Method Kala Ghoda, Bombay

A meditation on feminine agency within South Asian cultural frameworks, this durational performance weaves together post-colonial feminist discourse with embodied ritual. Through the metaphor of confinement and release—enacted with a fishing net, a thorn-adorned mask, and white roses—the work explores the tension between traditional expectations and contemporary identity. The act of breaking free from the net, followed by a deliberately restricted crawl through space, embodies both physical limitation and spiritual persistence. Each white rose, offered individually to viewers, transforms the audience from witnesses into participants in a ceremony of collective liberation.
